Filtering Data In Sheet TB

Below are some samples of data filtering operation that can be done on data on sheet TB.

Example 1

To see only rows based on any one item in the column BALANCE SHEET-MAIN CATEGORY.

Say we want to see only rows of data of one item in the main category column, e.g. CURRENT ASSETS item.

In this case, we want to see one item based on one column. So, we can use a Simple AutoFilter operation.

1. Make sure data area is in filtering mode.

2. Click on the arrow-head on the right of the cell with the title BALANCE SHEET-MAIN CATEGORY.

3. A list will appear.

4. Select (click on) one main category that you want.

You should see the data filtered according to the one selected item (category). You will see also the list of accounts and categories under this main category. All the totals in row 1 will be automatically updated.

Example 2

To see only rows based on one item in the column BALANCE SHEET-SUB CATEGORY.

Say we want to see only rows of data based on one item in the sub-category column, e.g. OTHER CREDITOR. This way, you can get a list of accounts inside the particular sub-category.

Since we want to see items based on one column, we can use a Simple AutoFilter operation.

1. Make sure data area is in filtering mode.

2. Click on the arrow-head on the right of the cell with the title BALANCE SHEET-SUB CATEGORY.

3. A list will appear.

4. Select (click on) one sub- category that you want.

You should see the data filtered according to the selected item (sub-category). You will see also the list of accounts under this sub-category. All the totals in row 1 will be automatically updated.

Example 3

To see only rows based on one unique item in the column PL-CATEGORY

Say we want to see only rows of data based on one item in the PL-CATEGORY column, e.g. item ADMIN EXPENSES.

Since we want to see items based on one column, we can use a Simple AutoFilter operation.

1. Make sure data area is in filtering mode.

2. Click on the arrow-head on the right of the cell with the title PL-CATEGORY.

3. A list will appear.

4. Select (click on) the main category that you want.

You should see the data filtered according to the selected item i.e. a list of accounts under that category. All the totals in row 1 will be automatically updated.
