Example 2

To see only rows of data where column DATE contains a particular date

Say we want to select a date from column DATE and only rowa of data related to that date will be displayed.

In this case, we can use Simple AutoFilter because it will look for one particular item in one particular column only.

1. Follow steps 1 to 3 in Example 1.

2. Click the small arrow which appears on the right side of column titled DATE.

3. A list of unique dates will appear.

4. Select (click) a date.

Now you will see only rows of data where column DATE contain the selected date. All the totals in row 1 will be automatically updated.

Example 3

To see only rows of data where column MTH contains a particular month

Say we want to select a month from column MTH and only rows of data related to that month will be visible. In this case, we can use Simple AutoFilter because it will look for one particular item in one particular column only.

1. Follow steps 1 to 3 in Example 1.

2. Click the small arrow which appears on the right side of column titled MTH.

3. A list of unique months will appear.

4. Select (click) a date.

Now you will see only rows of data where the month in column NTH is the selected one. All totals in row 1 will be automatically updated.

Say we want to select an account from column ACCOUNT-DEBIT and only rows of data related to that account will be visible. In this case, we can use Simple AutoFilter because it will look for one particular item in one particular column only.

4. Click an account name.
